Tested-lifter sheet: federation rules, any MOTS-c product on record, and lift numbers kept the same way

For a lifter in a drug-tested federation: where the anti-doping answer comes from, what to keep on record about any product, and a lift log kept identically before and after any change so results are not judged from memory.

What the sources say for a tested lifter

  • FDA's July 2026 briefing, citing a Global DRO search dated March 20, 2024, says Global DRO lists MOTS-c as prohibited, based on the 2024 WADA list of hormone and metabolic modulators.[1]
  • An anti-doping laboratory method detects human MOTS-c in plasma down to 100 pg/mL.[2]
  • FDA identified no clinical studies or human exposure data for MOTS-c, so no strength result in people exists to weigh against that risk.[1]
  • A less active MOTS-c variant was more common in sprint/power athletes than in controls in a trend test; that is an inherited association, not evidence about taking MOTS-c.[3]

Lift log kept the same way every week

Same lifts, same warm-up, same notation, so any change can be read against your own history.

For your federation, team physician or sports medicine clinician

  1. Is MOTS-c, or anything sold under that name, prohibited in my federation in and out of competition?
  2. How would a positive test be handled if a product was mislabelled or contaminated?
  3. Which recovery problems am I trying to fix, and what has evidence for them?
  4. Do any of my current medicines or supplements need checking against the prohibited list?
