What the studies found
- Statins lowered blood CoQ10 by a weighted mean of 0.44 μmol/L across 8 placebo-controlled treatment arms.[1]
- A meta-analysis of 6 randomized trials in 302 statin users found no significant benefit of CoQ10 for statin muscle symptoms.[2]
- One small trial of 50 statin users with muscle pain reported less pain after 30 days of CoQ10 50 mg twice daily.[3]
- A Cochrane review of placebo-controlled trials found no clinically significant effect of CoQ10 on blood pressure.[4]
- In Mounjaro's placebo-controlled trials, average heart rate rose by 2 to 4 beats per minute, against 1 on placebo.[5]
